   Metal guy rings will be just fine but must be bonded to the element somehow. If they are left  loose you could get micro arcs that could cause noise in the receiver. Something nonconductive would also be just fine.

I want to guy the vertical antennas with rope or fishing nylon on my 4-8 pro. Over the years, the fiberglass rod on the base bended, and the antennas are not straight any more

May I use metal guy rings in the vertical antenna to support the guys? Or may I use something not conductive?
