Lee. . in addition to my original comments posted on your website (I was
writing those comments about TX7M real time while listening on the radio), I
recently worked two new ones with the help of the Hi-Z 160m 8 circle. They
were 4K6FO and the recent operation at FT5ZM. Alim, 4K6FO, was only running
100w and that's a tough part of the world to work from the Midwest. My
ambient noise level out here in the rural Iowa countryside is very, very low
which allows my four square transmit array to here quite well. In many
cases it hears as well as the 8 circle array as I'm not noise limited.
However, in the case of 4K6FO he was extremely weak and not copyable at all
on the TX array. He was Q3-Q4 on the Hi-Z 8 circle. I was able to
successfully make the QSO on 16 January (and not a large number of NA did).
The situation with FT5ZM was not quite as marginal as they were Q2-Q3 on the
TX array but solid Q4 on the Hi-Z. I might have been able to make the QSO
without the Hi-Z (not 100% sure) but with the 8 circle it certainly made it
easier and gave me confidence that I had a valid QSO at the time. I have
had at least four or five similar situations over the past two or three
years. In addition, we now have three Hi-Z arrays (160m 8 circle, 160/80 8
circle, 40m 4 square) at the N0NI contest station. They have all performed
well have contributed greatly toward our success in the contests.

Not only are the Hi-Z products terrific performers, but the Hi-Z crew and
support are excellent.
