[Hi-zreceivingarraydiscussions] Two items today

Hello Lee ...

I am using the Hi-Z 8 Circle Array.  Just finished it up a few weeks ago.  Since that was the case, my 160 season
has been kind of slow, though I did work the FT5 a few days ago.  Now I am listening for the TO7 and the 5I0.

I am using the remote RF switching of the array, and it works very well.

I mounted the transmitter in a plastic NEMA box on our TV tower at about 40 feet so it can see the receive
unit at the array about 1,100 feet from the house.  I mounted the receive unit in another NEMA box at on a pole
about 8 feet height.

Also I am using the power over the coax cable power injectors.  As it turns out, I am feeding the cable with 35 volts
so I can see 13.8 volts at the array. (when the array is connected)

The coax cable I am using has a copper clad center conductor. (my bad) as it has a ton of voltage loss.

When I redo the RG-6 cable runs for next season, I will be replacing the current RG-6 coax with a pure copper conductor.

P.S. If you want some photo's please let me know.

We are not getting much feedback on your favorite stories using your Hi-Z
Arrays.

So how about just telling us how much more DX you have worked that you may
not

have been able to without the Hi-Z. We are going to Dayton and should be a
part of

the Antenna forum there. So cough up some stories guys. Feel free as we
probably

can't use them all but would sure like a chance to hear them and use a few.
Private

e-mails are fine to support at hizantennas.com <mailto:support at hizantennas.com>

Secondly, we are getting several requests for information about remote
operation

of our arrays. If some of you have done this; and I know you have, would you
be

willing to share how you have made this work? Even I am thinking of a remote
array

because of the 100 horsepower air compressor on a VFD that moved in next
door to me.

Thanks in advance.
