Greetings,

Lately we have repaired a few Hi-Z Amps due to close proximity strikes. 
In fact one was so close to one customer it nearly knocked him out of 
his bed early one morning. While it is impossible to design a circuit to 
withstand such an event, several customers leave the system powered up 
24/7. It would be a better practice to power OFF when not in use. The 
Hi-Z Amp has a relay that when the system is not ON shorts the input for 
protection.  While not totally fail-safe, it might just be enough.
